LEYCO®-STRIP 2: Product-No. 20.205
LEYCO®-STRIP 2 is a solvent based material used as a dip into which iron parts are placed to remove them of their cured coating.
LEYCO®-STRIP 2 is free from phenol, cresol and chromium compounds.
Preparation of the dip:
The best baths in which to use LEYCO®-STRIP 2 have acid resistant surfaces. In addition, simple iron or steel tanks can be used, though it should be noted that after a period some corrosion may occur. When using the dip, the process will take longer when the atmospheric temperature is lower. The most favourable dip temperature is with approx. +20°C.
Application notes:
LEYCO®-STRIP 2 is applied in the dipping bath. Small parts are put suitably into a wire basket and submerged in to the
LEYCO®-STRIP 2. The time taken to remove the surface coat depends upon the type of varnish, its strength and the temperature of the dip. The accurate cleaning time can only be obtained by an experiment. The burned coating materials become detached splinter or float from the metal.
For economy reasons we recommend to build a false floor in the reservoir, so that the varnish residue can be removed occasionally without having to remove the liquid. This simple method ensures the high economy of LEYCO®-STRIP 2. After the cleaned parts are removed from the dip, they should be thoroughly hosed down with clean water.
This should take off any loosely adhered residue.
